Top 10 DJ Chart
Top 10 DJ Chart
Joey Negro [Various Artists]
9 April, 2009 | 4.14PMAs a founding father of the UK soulful house scene, Joey Negro aka Dave Lee, has created some of the house scene’s biggest records under his plethora of aliases which include Jakatta, The Sunburst Band, Raven Maize, Z Factor and Doug Willis.
He recently uploaded a Top 10 DJ chart to Beatport that features nothing but pure house music grooves. It’s deep, soulful and sexy.
Topping Joey Negro’s chart is his own ‘Ride The Rhythm’, an old skool piano houser that is unashamedly designed to move terraces.
Afrojack’s melodic techy house cut ‘Radioman’ follows at No.2, and the tech influence continues with Carl Craig’s C2 mix of Martin Buttrich’s ‘Stoned Autopilot’ and Ame’s slow-burning deep techno mix of Roy Ayers ‘Tarzan’.
Henrik Schwarz’ mix of Negro’s own ‘Man of War’ (which he produced under his The Sunburst Band moniker) brings it back on a deep house tip, as does Steve Sole’s re-edit of Chuck Cogan’s ‘Satellites’ and the Jimpster mix of David K’s ‘Tomtom Avenue’.
And Negro’s mix of his own track ‘Doug Biscuit’ (which he produced under his Doug Willis moniker) completes the list.
