This week saw a notable addition to the Beatport charts page: the long overdue, first top 10 from Eric Prydz.

As I’m sure you’re all aware, Mr. Prydz/Pryda/Cirez D has emerged over the last few years to become one of the planet’s biggest producers. 

His work under his own name, or under either of the above pseudonyms, virtually guarantees a club-destroying, Beatport Top 10 hit that will be played and playlisted across the globe.

His chart also coincides with the release of the triple A side ‘Animal/Miami To Atlanta/Loaded’ through his own Pryda Recordings: a release that exudes all the barnstorming electro-tinged qualities we have come to associate with his output.

As well as his current crop of favourites, the chart appears to be an ode to a number of his influences with Speedy J, Aphex Twin and Cerrone all appearing.
