Toolroom support new talent with sub label

In a move that is bound to please underground electronic music heads, top house label Toolroom Records is set to launch a brand new sub-label designed to help out new talent.

Called (rather cleverly) Leaders of the New School, the digital-only label will only focus on the brightest new talent from around the world.

Toolroom king Mark Knight explained: “This is the evolution of our Leaders Of The New School EP series, which was breaking ground for artists like Richard Dinsdale & Patric La Funk.

“We will be giving artists the opportunity to release on a bigger label… both up-and-coming artists who are creating hot music that’s rocking dancefloors across the globe, and also artists that have been working the scene for years, but not necessarily had the spotlight they’re worthy of.”

Label Director Stuart Knight confirmed that artists on Leaders Of The New School will get the same promotional treatment that any Toolroom Knights artist gets.

“After five years of establishing Toolroom as a worldwide brand, we feel now is a great time to push the boundaries further and expose future talent and cutting edge music,” he said.

“Each release will get the full Toolroom treatment through our promo, press and licensing channels.”

To kick start the new label, 24-year-old producer Matt Samuels [check out his tracks in the player below] has been selected to drop a melodic house EP ‘Start To Finish’, which has got the likes of Hernan Catteneo and Nic Fanciulli already excited.

Apart from a remix of Depeche Mode’s ‘Enjoy The Silence’, Samuels’ releases have remained firmly in the underground, having been played by DJs such as James Zabiela and Steve Lawler.
