Time is Now (Inland Knights Remixes)
Jamie Anderson [NRK]
5 November, 2007 | 12.50PM- Section: Music Recommendations
Over the last ten years, Bristol based label NRK has released music from artists including Peace Division, Joey Negro, Ian Pooley, H Foundation, Onionz and Joeski.
Digging through their superb back catalogue has resulted in a slew of classic NRK tracks, including ‘Time is Now’, being re-released on the label and introducing a new era of fans to some classic tracks.
One of the label’s most prolific and best known producers is Jamie Anderson, who produced the superb ‘Blue Music’ album back in 2001.
From his roots in West London to his time in Bristol where he met his old mate Jesse Rose, Jamie has immersed himself in music, starting with a love of jazz and playing keys with a number of different bands back in the early 1990s.
Jamie’s underground 2004 hit, ‘Time is Now’, comes back around again for the dancefloor, this time with Nottingham’s legendary deep housers the Inland Knights on remix duty.
The Inland Knights aka Lawrence and Andy serve up three takes on Jamie’s original, all rooted in their DIY inspired house grooves.
A compact squelchy bassline, a jazzy key riff and strings keep it refreshingly simplistic and bumpin’.
Head for the Extended Mix for some proper house flavours!
