original detroit grand pubah, andy toth dons his exb fedora with a dark, sexy feather on this purely original and highly addictive, panty-dropping, minimal techno/r&b masterpiece. on “thrillseekers,” billy love’s pivot-and-punch delivery is crystallized in one solid track with a sexed-up recollection of the new dance show era in 1980’s detroit. packaged with a trio of remixes, this ep’s diversity is clearly evident. the light switch is turned off on the “michigan left demix”, resulting in a darker, straight-to-the-point, bare bones rendition. on midnite jackers’ take on the track, it’s quite the contrary — this extended house mix floors the mind with in-your-face delivery and radio static confusion (of the most entertaining sort). the legendary dj godfather rounds out the pack, transforming “thrillseekers” into electro grime.
