After the delightful Raw Data EP, Belgian Thomas Sari is back for another outing, this time on Timid Records. Like the Raw Data EP, Sari has reaffirmed his skill for crafting delicious deep melodic grooves. These are no dance floor stompers, more like gorgeous squidgy ear cuddly little friends.
Night Shift is characterised by soft and sweping synths while nicely placed claps and some R2D2 style computer sounds balance the organic with the electronic. This feels very much like a Manuel Tur record, which is no bad thing.
The Experience is another chance for Sari to show off his knack for producing quality deep hypnotic grooves. Here things get slightly naughtier with bleepy stabby loop that builds uop to a nice crescendo, the layers of electronic noise landing on a bed of deliciously soft warm synth chords that tickle your tummy they’re so pretty. On my third listen now and this is a real summer stunner. Full marks. The George Guelters remix takes things stompier, an electro-esque distortion and a rather disagreeable siren like noise detracts from the quality original too much.
Highly recommended for the two originals from Sari, quality deep grooves for those BBQ nights. Definitely a name to watch.
