This week in house music
17 September, 2007 | 8.36AMIt is a great week to start this blog with so many hot new releases at my fingertips.
The surge of house music worldwide is definitely something worth noting.
With house music becoming a broader genre almost daily, we’ll break it down and cover releases in the sub genres of house; vocal house, funky house, progressive house, deep house, tribal house, disco house, tech house, electro. But as Jack stated “in the beginning…” it is all the same in the end…just simply great house!
This week we have strong releases from a few legendary labels like; Strictly Rhythm, Yoshitoshi, Om Records, Nite Grooves, Dust Traxx, Nervous Records, Toolroom, as well as many fresh new labels like the launch of, Wasted Youth Music, the label of producer Carl Kennedy.
Robbie Rivera, has pumped out a solid house remix of the classic ‘Push The Feeling’ by Nightcrawlers, and it’s a Beatport exclusive.
Konichiwa, has released the production of Pete Tong and Dave Spoon featuring Robyn ‘With Every Heartbeat’ - it is a must-have vocal house record. Robyn is flying high as an ‘Essential New Tune’ and is No.1 in the Cool Cuts Chart.
Spinnin Records drops Bjorn B ‘Be Yourself’ a hot vocal groove with a wicked mix by DJ Jeroenski and House Foundation gives us A&M ‘Say What You Want’ a peak hour vocal with a gritty Balaeric Remix.
If Latin house is your flava, Tiger Records delivers a bangin’ Latin tribal groove called ‘R.I.O.’ This release is climbing high into the Beatport House Top 100.
House legend George Morel and Chris Montana team up for a cheeky circuit groove called ‘Sex Girl’ on Demeanour, a Beatport exclusive.
Big Boss Records, a sister label to Boss Recordings, drops a funky, jazz, house groove from Grant Nelson called ‘Spellbound’.
