Theo Parrish and Matthias Tanzmann to open Manchester’s new Spektrum club

Recently voted as the 17th best nightclub on the planet by music industry professionals in DJ magazine, the crew behind the highly successful nightclub Sankey’s has a new project in the mix for the city of Manchester.

Due to go off the first week in September, the press release claims that this will be “where Berlin meets New York”, setting the bar high from the outset.

“We all get older,” says Sankeys main honcho David Vincent, “and I’ve designed the club that I would want to go to.”

To attain the perfect flavor for this newbie nightclub, the Sankey’s team did a bit of international research, traveling abroad to luxurious nightclubs in search of what elements makes a good club good.

They returned with a seed for the future which is about to sprout this September. 

With a capacity of 350 in a completely new space, the focus is to be very intimate and connected, replete with a half Funktion 1, half Phazon beast of a soundsystem.

An LED lighting system will groove in time to the music as it dances across the ceiling and, naturally, top-shelf cocktails are in store as well as booths on reserve for those that plan ahead.

Staying in line with the theme of quality, underground electronic music will be the focus, with an emphasis on nurturing the next generation of young DJ and production talent.

To start if off right Theo Parrish is headlining Opening Party 1, with a host of other top-notch DJs and high calibre talent to follow, including Matthias Tanzmann, Joris Voorn, and Guillaume & the Coutu Dumonts.

For Manchester, a new era of clubbing may very well be dawning.

September 5th - Spektrum Opening Party 1 - Theo Parrish and Cut Loose DJs

September 6th - Spectrum Opening Party 2 - Matthias Tanzmann, Greg Vickers & Ellesse

September 12th - Micron kicks off its new residency at Spektrum with Ben Klock from Berlin and support from the Micron DJ team

September 13th - Kaluki - Joris Voorn, Ellesse, Milton Da Silva

September 20th- Back To Front - Guillaume & the Coutu Dumonts (Musique Risquée, Circus Company), Dave Sandford, Tom Craven, Adam Shelton

September 26th – 27th - Spektrum will join with Sankey’s as part of Sankey’s 2nd Birthday Celebrations. Fedde le Grande and Danny Tenaglia will spin at Sankeys, with special guests at Spektrum
