The return of bangin’ techno with ‘Il Salto Fuori’
18 February, 2008 | 3.04PMNow I won’t normally find myself raving about a good old fashion bangin’ techno track, but one listen to the Tattoo Detectives
‘Il Salto Fuori’ on Teggno Records
and all has changed.
This track transformed me back to a time when energy-fueled beats, sweaty heaving bodies and losing yourself in the music were an essential part of my weekend manoeuvres.
Little wonder, then, that this storming track is already a worn out item in sets for Carl Cox and Paul Van Dyk, who have literally been hammering it for close to a year.
As to this exciting new talent, Gabriel Ben and Tacopimp formed the Tattoo Detectives in 2005, and their blend of electronica, funked up house and techno simplicity has won them praise in many quarters with releases gracing such acclaimed labels as Intec, Sound of Acapulco and Twisted.
This year will see them gearing up a handful of new singles, remixes and a full-blown artist album, along with headline DJ gigs in Europe.
