Munk has been keeping the carrot well-and-truly dangled ever since the release of last year’s acclaimed Cloudbuster LP. 

A series of remixes from the likes of WhoMadeWho, The Juan Maclean and Ed Banger Allstars has ensured that appetites are sufficiently whetted for this latest installment – a glammed-up rework of The Rat Race by Berlin wunderkind, Siriusmo.

Hailing from the city where listless techno is the order of the day, Moritz Friedrich (Siriusmo) stands apart from the crowd of ten-a-penny, beep-beep-loop-loop producers to offer the groovier kids in town a wealth of wildly eclectic beats and sounds.

Whether dubstep or disco, R’nB or electro-funk, Siriusmo’s productions are universally laden with lashings of heart and soul, harmony and melody; not to mention some phucking phat bass-lines.

It’s little wonder then that big-hitters such as Digitalism, Boys Noize and Modeselektor have been queuing up to secure his handiwork on their own material.

The Rat Race sees Friedrich at his hi-hat-wielding, honky-tonking best, to forge a jazztastic knees-up of a tune that I bet Goldfrapp wishes she had penned.
