started a worldwide phenomenon in the mid-1990s with the introduction of a sound that became known as dub techno.
At first it was picked up by the electronic music elite based around Berlin’s famous Hard Wax record store, before eventually becoming one of the biggest trends in the world of techno.
Dub techno finally died off after the genre failed to evolve due to a lack of innovation.
Now though, Basic Channel are set to once again influence the new sound of techno with the news that they will release all of their original 12-inches exclusively on Beatport.

‘The Pace’, an anonymous white label release from The Netherlands, represents dub techno’s new renaissance.
Both tracks on this record are heavily influenced by the Basic Channel camp, but work extremely well on dancefloors with its sonic bass and typical dub delay FX.
For serious techno fans, the dub techno renaissance is well overdue.
