December 1st heralds the end of another year and another riotous celebration to mark the anniversary of the birth of The End.

Twelve years on the clock now and still going strong, we’re celebrating this landmark with a collection of our favourite DJs in The End’s main room and AKA, guys that consistently rock our worlds – not to mention our dance floors – and draw the very best crowds. Laurent Garnier and Mr C put through main room through its paces, whilst Layo & Bushwacka! and Erol Alkan take care of AKA. The End’s lounge will be manned by the ‘Masters From Work’, heroes from behind the scenes at The End, Don Mac, Bill Shakes, Rich Kelly, Stereobitches and The Coordinators.

Laurent Garnier joins us in the main room, fresh from the release of his live session album ‘Public Outburst’, which saw him join up with three long term friends and collaborators to fuse 1970s jazz with techno. The album project shows Laurent at his best; as ambitious and open-minded as ever, so for those unfamiliar with his tour-de-force sets, expect him to blend techno, house, electro, breaks, drum & bass, jazz, reggae, rock and more in his own unique and effortless style. Joining him will our favourite ‘freq and birthday party veteran; Mr C. He’ll be bringing driving techno and twisted house to the fray.

Layo & Bushwacka! are riding high off the success of their recent mix album ‘Global Underground Rio’ and their Olmeto residency here at The End. Anyone who has been to Olmeto recently, or invested in a copy of their compilation will know the boys are continuing to push boundaries in their sets. In a rare break from their usual spot in the main room, they will be popping champagne corks and spinning records in AKA at our birthday party! Joining them will be Erol Alkan, a man whose relationship with The End goes back a long way. Erol played the main room of the club every single Monday for six years at his legendary weekly party Trash, and continues to pull massive crowds as main room resident at the awesome Bugged Out! Erol will be doing exactly what he does best and rocking AKA, playing the finest electronic music and bits and pieces of the highly unexpected.

At The End we’re lucky enough to employ some serious talent; not only can they fix websites, un-jam printers, shuffle invoices, shmooze journalists and serve drinks as though their lives depended on it, but they’re also damn fine DJs. The lounge will be manned by Superfreq recording artist Don Mac, boys about town The Coordinators, former End Recordings label manager Bill Shakes and The Players’ favourites Rich Kelly and the Stereobitches.

After a year which has seen us add DJ Friction’s Shogun Audio, Jimpster’s Freerange, James Holden’s Border Community and Luke Solomon’s Little Creatures to our residencies as well as hold unforgettable one-offs such as Richie Hawtin’s Minus, a dubstep special from FWD>> and a twenty year anniversary party for Mr C that included Luciano and DJ T on the bill, it’s surely time we all let our head down and had one hell of a blowout! Party time people!
