Green Velvet aka Cajmere did a huge amount of groundbreaking work in the early days of house and techno, however, it’s clear from his new release ‘The Case (of the Lost Jacksters)’ he’s still very much a forward-thinking man.

This is erratic and bizarre house music that somehow manages to squeeze Green Velvet’s typified hallucinogenic vocals, acid basslines, jazzy pianos, huge organs and bleepy beats into a comprehensively catchy track.

B side ‘Earthquaker’ on the other hand is a giant, bassline-heavy instrumental record that reminds of Patrice Baumel’s huge ‘Roar’ track from last year.

It growls, it rises and it falls, all the while destroying the ‘floor in the process. Insane and brilliant at the same time - that’s Green Velvet.
