The 50 most charted tracks of May
3 June, 2010 | 3.55AMOnce again, we present the 50 most charted tracks of the previous month. Where our Top 100 charts track our highest sellers, both by genre and across all of Beatport, our Best of DJ Chart singles out the 50 tracks that appear most frequently across the hundreds of charts submitted to us every month by the world’s top DJs, from the underground to the mega-raves.
This month, underground and overground duke it out for the top slot, and the underground wins, as dark horse Wax noses past the top selling Swedish House Mafia. Wax—the house-oriented alias of René Pawlowitz, aka Shed, EQD and STP—is only on the third release of his eponymous imprint, but he’s managed to create serious buzz among DJs, and ‘WAX 30003 B’ shows why, with a cavernous fusion of dub techno and summery deep house, as luscious as it is functional.
There’s plenty more where that came from: Joris Voorn
, KiNK, Quince
, Deetron
, and Trickski
all make strong showings with contemporary takes on classic house and techno. Joris Voorn
, in fact, has two cuts in the top 50—as do Kaiserdisco
, Tim Green and Radio Slave
.
