With summer heating up, so are DJs’ setlists. For evidence, look no further than the 50 most charted tracks of May, dominated by deep, humid house sounds.

Speaking of domination, one group in particular swept up last month—the Hot Creations/Culprit/Crosstown Rebels axis of effortless groove. Jamie Jones and Lee Foss, aka Hot Natured, took the number two slot with “Forward Motion,” and then Jones turned up again at #3 with his remix of Azari & III‘s “Hungry for the Power.” Dan Berkson’s Crosstown Rebels tune “Anything for You” came in at #21, and then Lee Curtiss‘ “Candy” snagged two slots—#24 for the Martin Buttrich remix and #48 for the original mix. And another Hot Creations record, Clockwork’s “It’s You Again,” bookens the other end of the list at #47. If they keep it up, it’s going to be a very hot summer indeed.

Special mention goes to Oliver $, whose late April cut “Doin’ Ya Thang” recently hit #1 on Beatport’s sales charts with no marketing or promotion from the label; fittingly, it also turns up in the top slot here.
