Oliver $’s “Doin’ Ya Thing” hit the #1 spot on Beatport based entirely on word-of-mouth success—the same kind of buzz that earned it the #1 slot in our most-charted tracks for the second month in a row. Not bad, for a record with no promotion behind it! Clearly, the Play It Down label’s on-the-down-low strategy is paying off.

As for the rest of the top 10 most-charted tracks in June, it’s an intriguing mixture of mainstream faves (Swedish House Mafia), underground consensus picks (Hot Natured, Maya Jane Coles) and out-of-left-field underdogs (Todd Terje, with his magisterial “Ragysh” for Running Back). And the further down the list you go, the more it becomes clear: this is turning out to be one hell of a summer for dance music.
