The 50 most charted tracks of 2009
12 January, 2010 | 2.49PMThousands of DJs submit charts to Beatport every month, including some of the world’s most influential spinners, so it’s always interesting to collate and analyse the data.
We decided to go right back to the very beginning of 2009 and collect all of the year’s DJ charts on Beatport, to find out what the 50 most charted tracks of 2009 were.
Tech house, techno, house, and deep house dominate the year end chart, although there is a sprinkling of progressive house and electro house.
The most charted track of 2009 was Dennis Ferrer’s late house hit ‘Hey Hey’, which captivated DJs around the world with its classic house roots and catchy vocals upon release in November.
Joris Voorn’s former Beatport No.1 techno track ‘Sweep The Floor’ was the second most charted track of 2009, followed by Cirez D aka Eric Prydz’ ‘On Off’. Newcomers Coyu & Edu Imbernon reached No.4 with their low-slung tech house cut ‘El Baile Aleman’, and Saeed Younan scored a hit with his Viva-sponsored track ‘Backroom Honey’.
