Tarantic releases ‘Blessed Dub’
Tarantic releases ‘Blessed Dub’
9 November, 2007 | 3.12PMThe San Francisco-based Tarantic label is already starting to carve a niche for itself, and this latest release from Ivan-I and Jason Howell [pictured], aka B-Side Dub
, is ample proof why.
Featuring the subtle tones of Rootz (known for his vocals for Thievery Corporation), ‘Blessed Dub’ is built around a deeply satisfying organ groove those beats are laced with funky rhythms, languid basslines and jazzy chords, combining to make a record that will please many and defy those obsessed with pigeonholing.
There’s also an incredibly deep Isley Brothers-like guitar solo in Amit Shoham’s more organic recreation, and a chunkier Gabriel Black remix that’ll appeal to the connoisseurs and real house worships.
