Jakes is one of the scene’s most prolific MCs having worked with everyone from Tech Itch to TC as well as being Pendulum’s on tour vocalist.

His unique talent for spitting, coming across more sleek and cohesive whilst managing to deliver stories and messages across tracks has set him apart from the standard 100 miles per hour Skibadee types.

After years of working for so many other producers Jakes now releases his first solo album, a mixture of gut crunching heavy dubstep with Bristol flavoured drum & bass, with this first morsel, ‘Swerve’ having being produced by TC.

A rolling beat with plenty of hi-hats mixes in with Full Cycle styled double bass lines and a cheeky Lyn Collins sample (or the new ‘Amen Break’ to some), drops in sporadically to produce a funky, upbeat roller.

This track, as standard with most dnb tunes has already been played in the biggest clubs by some of the scene’s most ‘in’ DJs and has already proved itself a most devastating weapon, but it’s the tracks leaning towards the old school Bristol sound which proves to be the real attraction.
