Peter Van Hoesen runs the label Time To Express, an imprint that does a fine job of gathering gritty, warehouse-friendly techno, and here the Belgian producer and DJ manages to create an exceedingly impressive techno builder full of advanced atmospherics.

His remix of Sendai’s ‘Sustaining The Chain’ - a moniker for Van Hoesen and fellow Belgian experimenter Yves De Mey - features a compounding modulating synth, that stinks of Basic Channel, but Van Hoesen doesn’t let the dub influence overwhelm his creative spirit.

Instead, he offers a jumbling, funky bassline that contrasts wonderfully against the wave of noise that washes across the track with tsunami precision.

The lack of conclusion on his reworking of ‘Sustaining The Chain’ only helps to further define its intention as a powerful, enveloping DJ tool. If you felt the urge to wrap your dancefloor up in a cocoon of sound, this could work quite nicely.
