SunControlSpecies drops another bomb on Open Records

Open Records is about to embark on our biggest release in history – label boss Woodsman’s monster double disc compilation Expansion Pack – and to celebrate, we are giving you an early taste of what is in store from one of this year’s hottest compilations.

Sun Control Species needs little introduction to fans of forward-thinking dance music.

As one of Australia’s pioneering producers in his field and a long term friend and collaborator with Open Records, it was only natural that his stunning track Sleeve would be the first single from the compilation.

Sleeve is a festival-inspired stormer that walks the line somewhere in the grey area between progressive and techno, with the unmistakable SunControlSpecies atmospheres and crisp production work.

Already working its magic with DJs around the globe, Sleeve is SCS at his best. The remixes are no less spectacular, drawing on both fresh and renowned artists to cater for a variety of tastes.

US techno giant Erphun (1605 / Press & Play / Bedrock) takes us on a decidedly deep and twisted route, while Israel’s Sheff (Echoes / N.O.I.A.) opts for a no-holds-barred techno stormer that is guaranteed to rock any dancefloor.

Fellow Israelis Astronivo (Tribal Vision Records / eVapour8 / Sprout / Flow) deliver a more stripped back, minimalistic approach, while Solips (Plusquam Division / Vertikal) rounds the release out in style with a daytime rocker that returns to the tracks more atmospheric roots without losing its strong techno edge.
