Sunblock feat. Sandy ‘Baby Baby’

Just because Beatportal is featuring a music video by Sunblock it does not mean in anyway we are supportive of the group’s music. On the contrary, we think their music is the biggest load of drivel ever to have been labelled as ‘dance music’. Except maybe Crazy Frog.

So why feature the video for ‘Baby Baby’ at all? Because it is the greatest example of everything that is wrong with dance music videos.

It features women in bikinis and swimsuits riding bucking bronchos, swinging hula hoops, and pole dancing. There is absolutely no correlation between the visuals on screen and the lyrics of the song.

This is commercial rubbish aimed at 10 year olds. Some may argue that such accessible dance music and an overtly sexual video will attract new blood to the scene, but we think not.

If you were a teenager and the only dance music you had been introduced to was Sunblock, the first thing you’d do is hang a Marilyn Manson poster in your room.
