This has got the be the best time of year. There is just something about the vibe in the air that is a little bit different. For all of us that live in a four season climate, the return of the warm air is something to celebrate.

As a DJ, you can always see it in the crowd. They wear a little less clothes. Dress a little hotter. And stay out a little later. Its just different. And then there is the music. It seems to me that as soon as the season hits, all the tracks that were written over the winter start to come out. New artists. New Remixes. New Labels. New Styles. It is hard to keep up sometimes. And lets not forget the summer festivals, the tours, the concerts. Sonar Festival, Mutek, Detroit, Dance Valley, Global Gathering, Cream Fields, and of course Ibiza. There’s always more to do, more to hear, and more parties to attend. Summer brings out all that is new in the world. 

This week, we even have something new at Beatport. Our first ever, fully customized new release email. This thing is totally cool. Our system looks at your purchase history compares it to your “My Beatport” account and then suggests the tracks that you are most likely to like. It worked great for me. Let us know if it is working for you. It all sounds so simple, but it took months to write the code and beta test this system to make it work as good as it does. Considering that 5,200 new titles were entered into the system this week, this new email helps a ton to get you started. We hope you like the improvement.

So between it being the beginning of summer, the new music coming out, Beatportal beta testing, and the new customized email, things are pretty good here at Beatport.
