StoneBridge gets even closer
StoneBridge gets even closer
11 April, 2008 | 2.55PMHaving first made his name in his native Sweden via acclaimed DJ-only mixes in the early 1990s, Stone Bridge
remixed Robin S ‘Show Me Love’ for the service and hasn’t looked back since.
After years of remixing, StoneBridge reinvented himself as a DJ and producer in the late-1990s, creating the Ibiza anthem ‘The Beach’ as Coco & StoneBridge, before a deal with Hed Kandi led to the critically acclaimed debut album ‘Can’t Get Enough’ featuring the hits ‘Put ‘em High’ and ‘Take Me Away’.
It’s now back to basics for the summery ‘Close To Heaven’ released on his highly successful Stoney Boy imprint that features newcomer Jordana and Rita Campbell (who sound like a youthful Janet Jackson on ‘Give A Little’ from his last album).
‘Close To Heaven’ is a terrific pop-edged song that includes a handful of strong mixes in the package from Ian Carey, Chris Kaeser, Dumb Dan and Teo Moss that are all in the main radio-friend, and with more then a nod to ‘Put ‘em High’ their help will hopefully and deservedly turn this onto a wider audience.
