Fans of Tim Sweeney’s long-running weekly radio show Beats In Space were recently treated to a rare, live studio performance: a strictly hardware set of deeply jacking house from Brooklyn producer Steve Summers, real name Jason Letkiewicz.

Now, you can watch and listen to the whole thing again, thanks to a four-part video which popped up on the BIS site this week. Read on to check out more of the performance, plus audio samples of the versions currently available on Beatport.

Keeping tabs of Letkiewicz’ movements has been like turning in circles, as he has continuously moved through aliases and collaborations over the past couple of years. He produces smooth retro boogie as Sensual Beings and Rhythm Based Lovers for Future Times, chugging disco house as Malvoeaux for Ron Morelli’s excellent L.I.E.S. Records; he teams up in the studio with Morelli as Two Dogs In A House, and he covers multifarious styles for various labels under own real name.

Alongside this extended East Coast family of freak-house artists and labels, Letkiewicz takes it continental with Chicago-style house as Steve Summers for Dutch juggernaut Clone and the intriguing new Greek house imprint Echovolt. However and wherever he turns up, Letkiewicz’ audio signature—warm, melodic, and all-analog—is a joy to the ears.

His set at the WNYU studios showcased seven sprawling Steve Summers productions and one new, untitled cut. The entire performance was recorded by Aurora Halal, his partner in another of his projects, disco and synth-wave duo Inner Gaze, and all four videos can bee seen in sequence below, along with links to pick up the tracks on Beatport.
