Two principle members of European dance mafia join up to more then earn their stripes with this recent BBC Radio 1 Essential New Tune.
Steve Angello & Laidback Luke are the men in question and the simplistic ‘Be’ on Mixmash is the record currently creating all the fuzz, buzz and general clubland hype.
Pure adrenaline-fueled Swedish funk (Angello) meets Dutch (Luke) driving house with diva-ish ad-libs, heavy percussion loops and old skool house undercurrents.
Not too far removed (vocals aside) from Luke’s current reissue of ‘Rocking With The Best 2007’ (also to be found on Mixmash).
But together in ‘Be’, the two have created a memorable hook filled number is worthy of attention.
