Stefan Goldmann debut album in September

Stefan Goldmann has come a long way since his first bumpy house releases on Derrick Carter and Luke Solomon’s Classic imprint. So has his sound.

While it all started out, well, very much in the bouncy, Carter-esque house style of Classic, the Berlin-based producer has lately been busy exploring more haunting and minimal corners of the house universe.

His debut album ‘The Transitory State’ will be released on his own Macro label in September.

After six EPs on Macro, it was time to compile all the tracks previously released only on vinyl, add a few highlights like his tracks for Perlon (’Phraselabe’, ’Blood’) and Innervisions (’Sleepy Hollow’) and press them all on a CD.

But ’The Transitory State’ will consist not only of one, but two CDs.

The second CD will further explore Stefan Goldmann’s love for eerie, ambient and sound experimentation, which he has already shown every once in a while with the odd ambient track on his EPs.

And for everyone, who is still sticking to vinyl, Stefan Goldmann and his label partner Finn Johannsen have come up with a special vinyl format for the album: A box of five 7"s.

Quoting Finn Johannsen: “It was a pain in the ass to get that format, but it had to be done.”

Word.
