Stars at Creamfields Central Europe
19 February, 2008 | 7.54AM- Section: Music News
At the beginning of February, following long negotiations, the first big names are confirmed for the festival.
These three names will headline at the Raveline Global Stage – a huge dance arena.
A recent reader’s poll in the British magazine DJMAG placed all three names in the top ten of the hundred top DJs in the world.
So, who are they?
The third most popular DJ on the planet, according to the poll is John Digweed.
Fifth place in the poll was taken by DJ Sasha, with Ferry Corsten coming in at number 8.
All three dance music icons will perform at Creamfields Central Europe.
John Digweed´s style is known as hypnotic progressive house and it quickly found thousands of fans throughout the UK and around the rest of the world. He has released several successful compilations, including some in conjunction with DJ Sasha – including the compilations Renaissance and Northern Exposure. John also established the respected label Bedrock Records, with the same name, Bedrock, providing the title the famous events which have taken place at London’s famed nightclub Heaven. Amongst others who have performed at these events are Carl Cox, Paul van Dyk, Basement Jaxx, Grooverider and Adam Freeland. John´s Kiss 100 Radio Show also has thousands of fans.
The name of the next DJ was mentioned above. The longterm cooperation of DJ Sasha with John Digweed has been more than productive (the Northern Exposure compilations). Their shared performances at the Twilo club in New York City have become legendary. Sasha is also a very in-demand remixer having done remixes for Madonna (Ray of Light), The Chemical Brothers and The Pet Shop Boys amongst others. Despite having been a part of music scene for seemingly ages he has constantly updated and innovated his sound.
The trinity would not be complete without the eigth most popular DJ in the world, Ferry Corsten, an icon of trance music. He stepped into the music scene under the moniker System F with the trance anthem Out of the Blue which was used in the film Kevin & Perry Go Large. He has also participated inon another trance project called Gouryella in cooperation with fellow DJ Tiesto on tracks such as Gouryella, Walhalla and Tenshi?? Ferry has also established the celebrated label Tsunami and among the highlights of his career we can mention the successful Trance Nation compilations and the 2006 Trance Awards Best Video nomination for his track Fire.
