St. Louis don’t give a shit it’s Monday

Mondays are on the whole, rather crap. If you don’t have a hangover, you’ve got a team meeting or a conference call, or some other vomit-inducing waste of time.

All you want to do is curl up and die, and come 5pm the only destination worth heading to is the sofa for a take out munch fest.

But for about 1000 or so St. Louisans tonight, they chose something else. They chose Sasha and John Digweed.

They chose to dance to the rippling, heart wrenching progressive house and techno spun by two of the most famous DJs in the world.

Giant LED screens underneath the DJ booth fill the dancefloor with cascades of brilliant light, as the club fills with smoke, laughter and quite a few randy clubbers.

On a couch in the back of the club, a girl straddles the lap of a rather fat bloke with a goatee and bounces up and down like she is trying to resuscitate his heart that happens to be located in his crutch.

A trio of Brazilian girls queue up next to the DJ booth snogging anyone vaguely associated with the tour.

There is sexual tension in the air, with lustfulness and decadence in abundance.

It might be because it’s Monday night (and if you’re going to party on a Monday, you might as well go all out), or it might be because it is Spring, but everyone at Dante’s is horny as a devil tonight.
