SQL’s Lactose EP on Open Records proving a hit for global dance floors

After taking a break for a few months over the Aussie summer festival season, Open Records are back with vengeance in 2009 with a string of stellar releases heading your way. Kicking off the year is an EP from SQL [a] titled the Lactose EP.

SQL [a] is Pim van Horrsen, is a fresh artist hailing from Amsterdam producing a wicked mix of techno, minimal and house with touches of progressive thrown in for good measure.

Also part of the now defunct project progressive trance project Organix [a], Pim is making big impressions with his solo efforts with tracks on Echoplast, Tribal Vision, Blue Tunes, Benthic [l], Composure [a], Flow [a] and Plusquam.

He also is getting big respect and support from top DJs and artists like Armin Van Buuren [a], Andy Newland [a], Luke Porter [a], Derek Howell [a], Ramon Tapia [a], Mechanique [a], Serge Devant [a], DJ Slater [a] and heaps more.

The Lactose EP features two offerings of the title track – the laid-back tech-funk of the original, and a slightly more melancholic approach from fellow Amsterdam residents R.E.Z – another act that will be working with Open frequently this year.

Expertly mastered by Danny Bonnici [a] (of Nubreed fame) at Liquid Mixes, Open’s first release for 2009 has already hit No.1 on the Release Promo charts and No.15 on the Progressivehouse.com/MyPromoPool Top20, making it an essential release for any fan of quality deep progressive & techno music.

Tracklist:

1. SQL Lactose (Original Mix)
2. SQL Lactose (R.E.Z. Remix)
