Have you ever been sitting at your desk, on a bus, or in line at the bank, and been listening to music on your headphones, and before you know it, you realize you’ve been very vigorously bopping your head up and down making a complete ass of yourself in public for the last five minutes?

Well, that happened to me this morning. After a few sniggers and some sideways glances from the people around me, I realized what I was doing and thought I’d better check to see what had caused this embarrassing, albeit welcome, involuntary reaction.

To my (non) surprise it was the playful, horn-laced, but heavy-hitting bass sounds of the new Dubsided EP ‘Spraycan’. 

But instead of it being something from the main man Switch himself, I was delighted to find they have some new boys on board. Finnish newcomers Downtown & Jaxxon, who make up Renaissance Man were Helskinki DJs and club promoters just trying to bring the music they love to the city around them. 

Through their club night NOW! they were able to get their tunes into the hands of their guest DJs, which led to ‘Spraycan’ getting plays from Duke Dumont, Riva Starr, Brodinski, and more while Switch snatched it up for his highly respected label Dubsided.

Renaissance Man will have another single out soon, as well as a remix, on Institubes sublabel Sound Pellegrino later this month and this summer the duo will further improve their profile by remixing something on the established Kitsune imprint as well as the up and coming hot listed Ramp Recordings.

I’ve got my head-bopping headphones ready when you are guys.
