Splittr emerge with ‘All Alone’

The last few years have seen Martijn ten Velden [a] (or initially MTV) become one of the premier league in the remix and production stakes.

Now he joins forces with Mark Yardley (probably best known as one half of the award winning Stanton Warriors) to become Splittr [a]: a fully-fledged band with a foot each in indie, electronica, hip-hop and rock genres.

‘All Alone’, their Eye Industries [l] debut, spotting and equally eclectic remix package from Michael Gray, Chicken Lips, Alex Metric and Shadow Dancer.

Musically the label delivers another essential platter that pits funk with raw indie aggression and house undertones.

‘All Alone’ burbles, bumps and rattles to a quirky neo-punk vocal sung by Yardley, that’s matched with a timelessly chunky bassline that’s already won major support from the likes of Roger Sanchez and Deep Dish.
