Spank Rock reveal secrets behind Fabric mix
10 April, 2007 | 2.40AMBaltimore foursome Spank Rock
have revealed the special lengths they went to when putting together their new mix CD for Fabric.
The boys recorded all sorts of weird sounds to fuse into their mix, to compliment their somewhat slap dash approach to DJing.
They even recorded the sound of them throwing around their amps, which apparently produced a sound like a bomb dropping.
As Spank Rock’s frontman Chris Devlin explained: “The thing is, we fuck around a lot all the time, and I think a big part of the aesthetic of our performances and how we roll, as far as making the party, is debauchery and fun.
“And if something’s sloppy, you kind of own that a little bit, you know?
“So we just sort of carried that over into the Fabric mix, we thought maybe it would be good to have a little humour in it.”
Spank Rock’s ‘Fabriclive 33’ is out in April.
