Texan wunderkid Derek Howell returns with another epic peak time remix, this time leading his magic to ‘State’, from the mysterious Spacer, which is actually a secret collaborative alias for two of America’s top producers.
Howell strips the original back to its core, weaving in a solid sub bassline as the lead, and like a precision marksman, builds an unrelenting energy with his imaginative use of loops, stutter edits and vocal fills.
The original is a more laid-back affair, with deep tripped out synths and slower chuggy beats.
