Sounds of Time
Martin H [Invent Recordings]
27 August, 2007 | 3.08PM- Section: Music Recommendations
Following on from his recent collaboration with Peter Gun, Invent Recordings kingpin Martin H returns with his latest solo offering for the label.
Over the past few years he’s carved a subtle niche for himself with his rhythmic and deep style, and ‘Sounds of Time’ is yet another great single, continuing the label’s recent run of fine form.
The Original version of the track starts out deep, heavy bass stabs driving vibrantly through the underlying groove, as techy percussive rhythms slowly slink their way into the mix.
A quirky tribal drum arrangement then takes over, intensifying as the track builds and twists hypnotically towards a heads down climax.
Martin’s own Dub version is a bigger, effected version of the track, with reverb and echo creating a cool, analogue style sound that adds a unique tangible to proceedings. A wild, sliding snare lead in the middle of the track emerges from deep within the heart of the mix, and as it grows and fills the room, watch the reaction unfold and the chaos ensue.
‘Sounds of Time’ is one of the better singles to date from Martin H, and another great release that fans of his deep rhythms will undoubtedly enjoy.
