Sound Weapon invented by the British
20 May, 2008 | 10.02AMThere has been news of Sound Weapons being tested in the war-scarred tundra of Afghanistan for years now.
Confirmation that Sound Weapons were piloted to a secret venue known only as “Kamba” in Tokyo, Japan, have since been leaked from this reliable source.
Sound Weapon is the brainchild of ex-Bad Company producer DJ Fresh
, where he’s teamed up with the supremely talented MC Ivory, along with breaks maestro Deekline and scratch master Wizard
, to play live shows of epic proportions.
Inside, one can expect high-energy drum & bass and breaks, along with avant-garde productions where Fresh is ignoring the tried and tested to spill the contents of his unusually talented brain.
Speaking to Freshy boy last week, he told me that his plan was to take live performance to the next level by eventually having a full-on evolving visual show, where he uses MIDI controllers to simultaneously screw audio and video.
Check out this video to see the Sound Weapon pilot in Fabric at the tail-end of last year.
Fresh is now promoting his new single ‘Clap’/’Exhale’ on his Breakbeat Kaos label, which has just been released on Beatport, so check it out in the player below.
‘Exhale (Inhale Mix)’ is currently getting big support on Radio 1, being voted Eddie Temple Morris’ “Record of the Week”.
These are the upcoming tour dates for Sound Weapon [take note of the Fuji Rock one—it’s the first drum & bass act to play there since Roni Size and Reprazent did a decade ago].
