Soma Records goes back to Skool

Legendary dance label Soma Recordings are offering fans the chance to gain a rare insight into the creative industries with a one-day seminar.

Amongst the artists taking part are Chicago house icon DJ Sneak, UK stalwarts The Black Dog, Anja Schneider of the highly rated Berlin label Mobilee Records and legendary producer and DJ Dave Clarke.

Soma Skool takes place on Friday 25th April at Glasgow’s premier venue The Arches.

The event aspires to attract young people who have an interest in the creative industries.

The annual day-long event has attracted over 3,500 attendees over its eight year history, and this looks like it may be the biggest event to date.

Soma Skool aims to encompass an invigorating step-by-step explanation of how an original track is created, including the design and impact of visual and graphic artwork.

The filming and editing of a video utilising cutting-edge software and the breakdown of marketing and business plans will also be amongst the topics covered.

In order to enhance the business awareness of its attendees, the programme includes presentations, panel discussion and Q+A sessions with leading figures from within the music and creative industries.
