Austria’s Snowbombingfestival is under way: at this moment, thousands of Alpine revelers are hurtling down the slopes, clearing their minds after a night of beats and Jaeger bombs. Not that we envy them—we wouldn’t trade this view from our desk of the parking lot outside for anything. No sir. But for those of you that, for whatever crazy reason, feel the need for some vicarious high-altitude hijinks, read on as we ask Todd Terje, Fergie, and Fatboy Slim why they’re stoked about Snowbombing.

Have you played Snowbombing Festival before?

Yep, this is my fourth year. I’m a veteran.

How long do you plan to spend there, and which other artists are you excited to see?

I’ll be there a whole week to (try to) fatten up on sausages and weissbier. And a bit of snowboarding of course. Looking forward to seeing Space Dimension Controller, The Glimmers, Dixon, Ewan Pearson, Henrik Schwarz, Carl Craig, and even Kris Menace!

What have you planned for your set?

Nothing, really. Should I? I usually DJ to have fun, and fun is choosing tracks on the spot. Planning sets is for DJs that make 10 times my fee!

What festival survival tips do you have?

Avoid standing next to the “pee tree” (my girlfriend took an accidental golden shower at last year’s De La Soul concert), lock both your feet in the SAME direction on the snowboard for maximum pleasure, do not throw anything at Haans der Butcher, wear sun block, and don’t say “Arschloch” to the locals.

Skis or snowboard?

Snowboard, for four years now. Now I can do turns.

Fergie

Have you played Snowbombing Festival before?

No, this’ll be my first time. I have pestered the promoters for the last three or four years, so this is a big one for me, and one I’m massively looking forward to.

How long do you plan to spend there, and which other artists are you excited to see?

I will be there with friends for five days. Over the last few months I have been taking snowboarding lessons, so I’m ready for it—lots of falling and rolling about!

What have you planned for your set?

I have loads of new productions so I will play mostly new stuff I have been working on; I will sling on a few oldies as I’m sure everyone will be in full party mode.

What festival survival tips do you have?

Not been to a snow fest before, but I’m sure lots of whisky to keep the cockles warm will be the order of the day.

Skis or snowboard?

Snowboarder, I hear skiing is just for the girls, ha ha!

Have you played Snowbombing Festival before?

Yes, I played it last year and I’m straight back for more!

Which other artists are you excited to see?

Old friends like Greg Wilson, Kissy Sell Out, Fake Blood and The Cuban Brothers. Also wanna check out Magnetic Man and Example.

What have you planned for your set?

Bumpy, cool slope grooves for the igloo. All-out acid-house lazer party attack for the racquet club… We’re gonna try and make it snow indoors…

What festival survival tips do you have?

Pace yourself and drink plenty of fluids.
