What is it with electro house and video game styles lately?

Somehow, the electro house boys are managing to capture the real essence of that Megadrive sound – not in a cheesy way – but as if they were composing some of the finest gaming soundtracks of yesterday.

‘Slacker’ conjures images of one of those quirky driving games where you have a fit, pixelated blonde bird in the passenger seat giving you a blow job whilst you careen recklessly through deserts, jungles and cities in a dash to the prize money at a finish line.

Its resonant bassline and clicky beats will have you shaking your ass without question.

The included Pierre J Remix is pretty much identical, but less therapeutic – hitting you harder.

Moving onto the curiously titled ‘Humping’ and you’ll be struck by a set of staccato-synth stabs along with unashamedly brazen LFO synths.

The beats are delicate and bear the hallmarks of a lot of late nights in the studio.

Interestingly, before you know it, the track deteriorates into a raucous drop, proving the versatility of Q-Force.

This EP is rounded off with the blaringly camp ‘Fantastique’ – something that your dad might like!
