Shur-i-kan releases new EP on Urban Torque

Tom Shur-i-kan Szirtes first made an impact on the Freerange records imprint with the track ‘Niomi’s Dream’ that Tom Middleton spotted for his seminal ‘Jedi’s Night Out’ compilation for Mixmag.

Since then he’s been steadily making a name for himself in electronic production, moving into techy territory on his ‘Berlin Rising EP’ with releases on Physical Graffiti, Defected.

He’s also been honing his keyboard skills and has been a long-standing member of the improvisational dance group The Bays.

Now you can find him on Urban Torque with a new release that promises to captivate listeners as the mood shifts from straightforward builds in the first track - a driving house number titled ‘Gripper’ - to the darker and more slippery, percussive tech house feel of ‘Twist’.

‘Gripper (Shur-i-Kan’s Reprise)’ brings us back to an emotionally charged yet smoothed out, melodic and key-shifting version of the original.

Look for it as a Beatport exclusive beginning on 29th September, and definitely check out the second track, ‘Twist’ which will slide you into a deeper state of mind.
