Sharam Jey and Tommie Sunshine pull their “Things” out
1 December, 2010 | 6.30AMNaughty bits! At least, that must be what flashed through the minds of YouTube’s ever vigilant overseers, because they blocked Sharam Jey’s new video for “The Things,” featuring Tommie Sunshine, within a day or so of its posting.
Huh? Either YouTube’s content minders are extra super sensitive these days, or they’ve got some kind of magic X-ray glasses that allow them to peer through clothing. (In which case: tell us where we can get some of those! It’s for our little brother, promise.) Because, seriously: the men and women in the video may be clad only in underwear, but it’s hardly any more revealing than any of a million videos available on YouTube, like, say, this one.
Maybe it’s the bondage-themed content that turns the censors off? But it’s hardly “Smell the Glove.” Maybe, just maybe, YouTube’s self-appointed sheriffs don’t like seeing women in control, for once?
Whatever the case, the video’s up now on Vimeo, so you can decide for yourself. The Things Volume 2 is out now on King Kong Records, featuring the original plus remixes from Gyber, Mr. Wonk, Sound Traffik, Maxcherry, and Jad Lee & The Ladyboy; Volume 1 includes mixes from Cyberpunkers, Junior Sanchez, Acid Washed, Funkerman, and Boemklatsch. And it’s all good, clean (but kinda dirty) electro fun.
