SF label Bang The Box finally releases Running Amok!
15 October, 2009 | 12.39AMBang The Box finally releases the sought after hypnotic house work-out ‘Running Amok!’, along with the deep killer ‘Sheepskin City’. Catch up with the artist, Lance DeSardi, and find out what took so long…
After lance put together the title track to this release, he lost it. And didn’t find it for quite some time. A year to be exact. We sat with Lance and asked him what was the hold up…
Bang The Box: So what exactly happened with this tune? What do you mean you lost it?
Lance DeSardi: Well, I did the tune about a year ago, and really felt I had something special. In that period of time, my studio partners and I completely re-did our studio set-up, and I somehow misplaced the hard drive it was on. It took me up until a month ago to find it.
BTB: But you didn’t have it backed up on your laptop? we know that Justin Martin, Luke Solomon, Chloe’, and a slew of other people are playing it. How’d that work out?
Lance: I’d sent out a high-rez mp3 of it to some people, but I didn’t have the WAV file. I didn’t want to convert the mp3 back to a WAV and have a wack sounding song on club systems, so I made you stay in a holding pattern until I found it. Luckly, in that time I put together the B-side, which I thought was a killer tune to pair with it. Lucky for you!
BTB: True that! I guess it’s better late than never. Well, thankfully you found it and we are finally able to release this gem. Can’t wait to hear the next one!
Lance: Thanks, I’m puttin’ in work as we speak…
