Defected sub label Soul Heaven endeavor to deliver a single release from US soul/funk/hip hop artist Peven Everett ‘Power Soul’ album from earlier this year.
The release is backed by a remix from Tarantulaz, (Sir Piers and Toni Economides) who recently got into gear with a debut release on OM records, ‘They Forgot It’.
The dancefloor orientated ‘Tarantulaz Mix’ does very little in terms of putting a spin on the ‘Original’s’ downbeat warmth and chords, rather opting for an increase in tempo and a slickly produced commercial house backing.
Most of the original elements are retained, with the lustful vocals lifted in their entirety.
It’s simply a case of putting a four-four kick behind it, beefing-up the bass, and shipping it off to the dancefloor for mass consumption.
This track was all over the more soulful Miami WMC parties apparently, and MAW are set to feature it on two of their respective compilations.
If you’re prone to shaking your booty at a Hed Kandi or Defected club night, this will be right up your sexy street.
For those with a taste for the deeper end of the house music spectrum, steer well clear.
