Nick Curly’s unstoppable rise continues with the introduction of a new series of EPs on his trend-setting label Cecille.

The Mannheim-based producer has developed a knack for groovy rolling tech house, and this first release ‘1.2’ showcases his talents for layering lines upon lines of house beats in polite and gracious confusion.

Like fellow Mannheim instigator Johnny D, Nick Curly’s music is all about retaining energy through the subtle rearrangement of loops, and all three tracks contain this essential studio technique.

‘Stuntman’ is a slow-burning, minimal house number, and flourishes in the breakdown through a clever rising kick drum sound. ‘Disco Miami’ brings a chunkier housier mood to the EP, with vocal snippets and repetitive drums.

Pick of the bunch ‘Play’ combines heavy techno hi hats with driving basslines and solid claps, before moving into a funky soul direction.

Like all of Nick Curly’s music, there’s madness in his method but it works a treat.
