Sasha’s set from Space Ibiza opening makes it online

Knowing how protective Sasha is about his live sets, it’s surprising to find that Ibiza-voice.co.uk has a recording of the British superstar’s recent DJ set at the Space Ibiza opening party.

Somebody must have been secretly recording the output of the mixer.

Whilst it’s understandable that some DJs hate having their sets recorded, it is these live non-mastered sets that really show what the vibe of the club was truly like.

Devoid of any marketing need or tracklist contracts, these live sets represent nothing but a DJ trying to rock a dancefloor, and Sasha’s set is really good.

Some argue that having these live sets available for free download adversely affects the mix compilation market, and to an extent, that’s probably true.

But whilst these live sets affect mix CD sales, they also promote the artist and the club night and give people the chance to hear the music if they couldn’t make it to the event.

It would be interesting though to hear what other people think.

Is it good or bad for the scene to have live DJ sets for free download?

PS: There’s also a recording of Romanian threesome Raresh, Pedro and Rhadoo’s set from Circoloco’s opening party at DC10, which is absolute quality.
