Sasha & IMS 2011: Anatomy of an Anthem

Sasha’s new single “Cut Me Down,” featuring Krister Linder, drops this week along with a remix from Layo & Bushwacka!, finally wrapping up a cycle that began back in May at the IMS Conference in Ibiza.

Commissioned by IMS and Burn Studios as the official anthem of the 2011 conference, “Cut Me Down” received its debut—complete with a magnified view of the Ableton arrangement—with an audience of conference attendees. (You can check out the unveiling, complete with Sasha’s commentary, in the video above.) He then passed the parts off to Layo & Bushwacka!, who remixed the track without even hearing the original, and then used the experience as the basis for their master class in remixing.
