Burn Studios in partnership with Beatport and Sasha presents the Search for the Next Producer Star

While most music producers keep their tricks close to the vest, Sasha has decided to show his cards. At this year’s IMS in Ibiza the legendary DJ and producer discussed how he created the conference’s 2011 anthem track, deconstructing the work during one of the main panels. The track, titled Cut Me Down, set to release on Beatport early July, will be Sasha’s debut single off his much-anticipated artist album. Taking an even bigger departure from usual conventions, he’s now releasing the track’s stems for free.

As a special challenge for these parts, he’s teamed up with Burn Studios and Beatport to search for the most exciting, up-and-coming music producers. To be considered for this money-can’t-buy opportunity entrants must remix the parts of Cut Me Down, to be uploaded to the cloud before 10th July (12am CET). The top fourteen finalists will be flown to Burn Studios Hacienda in Ibiza, a state of the art equipped villa where Burn Studios will relocate for the summer. They will then take part in a 5-day intensive production bootcamp from 26th July to 30th July developed by SAE Institute, which includes mentoring sessions and master classes from some of the biggest names in the industry. Throughout this time winners will share and market their remixes online for public voting. At the end of the Hacienda program, the head of the class with the most overall votes and support for their remix will go on to collaborate with Sasha on his next release!

Download the parts and create your remix. You can use Burn Studios Audiotool or your preferred software.

Upload your remix:

When you are ready upload your remix in mp3 format to Burn Studios, but remember if you don’t have a Burn Studios profile you will have to create one first. Make sure to tag your entry with this: sasharmx

Promote your remix:

Share your track URL with friends on social networking sites, Sasha will select the fourteen lucky contestants for the second round, but having a lot of likes and comments might help you to shine out from the rest of the entries!

The fourteen contestants who will fly to Ibiza will be announced on 14th July on Burn Studios.
