Sasha and John Digweed’s top tour tracks
14 May, 2008 | 2.45PM- Section: Music News Topics: Sasha & Digweed Tour 2008
As a final wrap up, John Digweed and Sasha got in touch with Beatportal to reveal the top 10 tracks from their recent North American tour.
Having played over 20 dates in one month, the DJs really road-tested their music, and as such this list is a definitive collection of dancefloor destroyers.
There’s no better indicator of a track’s potential than when it is played in front of thousands of clubbers in a hot club through a booming soundsystem, and Sasha and John Digweed played these tracks, night after night.
Here’s Sasha and Digweed’s top 10 tracks from the Spring Club Tour 2008, including videos of the DJs dropping the tracks, plus tune descriptions from the DJs themselves.
1. Christian Smith and John Selway - ‘Total Departure’ [Drumcode]
John Digweed: “This was one of the biggest tracks on the tour, without fail this got an amazing reaction every night. The Cirez D remix of this track also worked really well when you wanted to send them really crazy.”

2. Quivver ‘Lost In A Feeling’ (Scanner mix)
Sasha: “This is a quality track, an immense drum & bass record basically. I played this as the last record at Ultra Festival in Miami and the crowd went mental.”
3. Guy J ‘Esperanza’ [Bedrock Records]
Sasha: “This is a beautiful track. We’ve been closing the sets with it. It’s the perfect end-of-night record.”

Sasha: “Again, another absolutely immense record. I’m a big fan of Carl Craig, he’s a legend. This doesn’t sound anything like a Carl Craig track either.”
5. Guy J ‘Under Pressure’ [Bedrock Records]
John Digweed: “Guy J has had quite a few tracks played on the tour by Sasha and myself but this one got the most plays by me.
“It’s a really nice warm techno-sounding track, and there’s an excellent remix from Error Error too, which also got lots of plays. Guy J is a future star watch this space.”
6. King Unique ‘Hinode’ (Fergie mix)
Sasha: “This is a belter. It’s quite hard and having it because it’s the Fergie mix.”

7. Megatonic Boys ‘America’ (Veerus & Maxie Devine Rmx [Le Club Records]
Sasha: “This is really well-produced and reminds me of an old Twilo record. I have no idea who made it, though! It’s a great record when you want to pick up a gear after the intial warm-up records.”
8. John Digweed ‘Gridlock’ (Henry Saiz Remix) [Renaissance]
John Digweed: “Henry has a couple of tracks on my new Transitions CD and I thought he would be ideal to remix ‘Gridlock’. He did not disappoint and turned out two amazing remixes - to say I am chuffed with the results is an understatement.”
9. D`Julz ‘Just So You Know’ [Ovum]
John Digweed: “One of those great quirky tracks that builds and builds, this track really gets the party started.”

10. Radioslave ‘Grindhouse’ (Dubfire Remix) [Rekids]
John Digweed: “This is one of those tracks that takes a while to get into your head, but when it does it really starts to do crazy things to it.”
