Sascha Funke mixes ‘Watergate 02’

The first edition of Berlin club Watergate new mix series just hit the shops the other day, showing the meticulous DJ skills of Turkish DJ and producer Onur Özer, who crafted his mix from a line-up of hypnotic and polyrhythmic minimal techno tracks.

We can now reveal that Bpitch Control’s Sascha Funke is going to take over the controls on the follow-up. 

Just like Onur Özer, the Watergate mix is going to be Sascha Funke’s second mix CD so far.

His first one, ’Boogy Bytes Vol.2’ on Bpitch Control, which came out two years ago, was a more-than-solid affair, and has shown that Sascha Funke is a DJ who likes to take chances in his selection every now and then.

And that he is not afraid to dig out an old trancy Balearic (or was it Balearic trance? I am confused) track like Transformer 2’s ’Pacific Symphony’.

The tracklisting is somewhat of a secret still, but word is that you will hear tracks from Sten, Closer Musik and even an old classic from the now defunct German Ladomat label.

The mix is due in early October, so watch this space for updates.
