Sander Kleinenberg replaces Pete Tong at Pacha Ibiza

When Pete Tong announced that he was going to be ditching Ibiza Town’s glamourous Pacha club for San Antonio’s Eden there was huge speculation as to who would be named resident DJ of Pure Pacha.

For a number of years Pete Tong entertained crowds at the opulent venue under the Pure Pacha brand, and with Tong jumping ship there was a huge void that needed to be filled.

Step forward Sander Kleinenberg and his DVJ spectacle.

Whilst Sander Kleinenberg doesn’t have nearly the same promotional pull as Tong, he’s certainly a better DJ and his audiovisual DJing which focuses on syncing videos with music, offers Pacha a more futuristic Fridays.

“I have just been made resident of Pure Pacha. Its great to be part of the Pacha family,” Sander told Stv.tv.

“It is a place full of amazing clubbing history and I’m happy that they have given me a chance to express myself musically in order to give the night my own unique sound and style. 

“Since I am somewhat of a different DJ compared to the other residents, I feel extra, positive pressure to make each performance as spectacular as possible.”

Sander Kleinenberg is sponsored by Pioneer and for a number of years he’s been using their DVJ gear to DJ with.

Recently Sander added the Pioneer SVM-1000 AV mixer to his set up, which allows him to mix visuals and music at the same time from one interface.

Sander Kleinenberg said of the $5400 mixer: “The SVM-1000 AV mixer...provides a total solution for the DJ that wants to mix with video. It’s a dream technical set up in my world.”
